He's waiting to be swatted. He knows he isn't supposed to get on the table with bare feet.

Heh! Those EYES!

Contrasting black and white image with a coloured background is always workable. What was used for the background?

What about the mans legs then! Are you a carpenter?
Reply
:iconlauratringaliholmes:
LauraTringaliHolmes Featured By Owner Feb 27, 2010
No, not a carpenter, but I have been known to have a deep interest in woodworking, especially artiture. I was a little disappointed in the table's feet, I must say. A small pad foot would have finished ff the legs nicely. As for the man's legs...who looks at a man's legs? Not me!

and this one has got dirty feet as well - here a little pad would have worked wonders as well

The pad is not under the foot, but rather carved as part of the foot. It was used a lot in American country furniture, as opposed to the ball and claw foot (eagle talons over a ball).

Artiture is art furniture. Oh, the discussions we used to have! Can furniture be art? How far is too far when compromising function? This was back in the late '70s through the '80s. And, no, my children are as real as they get, beautifully so!

so you had different interests then. I thought you had Pinochio Children!

a chair is a a sofa is a chum
what's art got to with it!

Oh for the ability to edit or delete one's faux pas:

I realised quickly that the texture is 'masonite' - something we in the good ole UK call hardboard, and the texture is the reverse, right?

Tsk.
I am getting old.

B*gger.

Best, if embarrassed, regards,

Oh – dont worry I did enjoy it very much.

You should call masonite masonite – the inventors name was Mason.

what does Tsk – stand for?

I am wondering what the colour/light is, and why he is so interested in it.
I had better go see the serie in case there are clues.
I liked the hessian/canvas texture.

The whole thing made me feel crustimaladourious - wanting to write music, to rewrite some Uriah Heap for the harpsichord ...

And - strange this - I kept seeing this chap in a striped victorian bathing suit. And a straw hat.

And what IS so interesting about that light?

Best, if puzzled, regards

Dibb

Dibb!

There are no clues!

I am sorry to hear that my picture wanted you arrange Uriah Heap
for Harpsichord. What a strange notion.

And why do you want to cover him with victorian stripes?

Sounds like a bad dream..

Well he doesnt seem to ne that happy...

and the light – there really is not much light here – but it is a bit on thde pibk side though

Puzzled too

I have noticed that men are often judged by their tables. This fellow might benefit from a nice area rug beneath his table.

A very to he point observation. He once was on a stove – and he didn't like that that much

Well, the kitchen might have offered other more suitable surfaces, but I suppose that a table is a good choice for a man looking to make a change.
