Excavation

This picture is an excavation of graffiti that I photographed  at the Rock monastary os Saint Archangel Micael at the Lom river in Bulgaria. Much of the walls were painted as fresco made between 1200-1400. Some om them were readable, some of the pictures just had a faint body and a halo. The black part here on this picture had been used for half a century as the background for graffiti. But whole graffiti area were a little messy so I just had to clean it up.
